Our Instructors

Joel is a celebrated culinary educator, author of Cooking Scrappy, and founder of Homemade and Homemade Live. After years as National Chef for Sur La Table, Joel launched Homemade during the pandemic to bring interactive cooking classes into homes worldwide, inspiring confidence through his approachable teaching style.

Joel Gamoran

Lisa is a chef instructor at Homemade, teaching easy, flavorful, and healthy cooking. She’s the lead cook at Sophon, a Cambodian restaurant, and runs ba + Mẹ, a Vietnamese pop-up. Outside work, Lisa enjoys walking her dog Gigi, ice skating, and dreaming of opening her own restaurant-bakery-deli.

Lisa Bi

With over 15 years of experience and a Master’s in Nutrition from Bastyr, Christa blends nutrition science with approachable recipes. Teaching at PCC Markets and as an adjunct professor in Seattle, she inspires culinary confidence and encourages exploring global flavors through hands-on cooking experiences.

Christa Demment González

Diana is a Culinary Institute of America graduate who has decades of experience as a chef, educator, and author. Formerly Co-Owner and Executive Chef of Seattle's RainCity Grill, she now teaches at Homemade Cooking and offers yoga classes in Edmonds, WA. Diana champions women in culinary arts and co-authored Entertaining Simply.

Diana Dillard

Alex is a Seattle-based chef who celebrates South American flavors and Northwest ingredients. He launched Siembra, a Peruvian-Colombian pop-up recognized on Conde Nast Traveler’s 2021 Hot List. When not cooking, Alex enjoys gardening and exploring the mountains.

Alex Dorres

Nicco, a Boston native, began his culinary career at Fenway Park and honed his skills in Middle Eastern cuisine under Chef Ana Sortun. Now Seattle-based, he’s Mama Group’s Culinary Director and a Chopped champion, teaching fermentation and preservation classes while exploring the outdoors with his wife and dogs.
